Mini Musicians

This group class for 4-5 year olds follows a successful syllabus which is used in numerous countries, including the UK & Ireland. It is designed to be a first introduction to music which is positive, creative and exploratory.

The classes incorporate piano playing, and are a great preparation for more traditional piano lessons, but will also be beneficial for children who will go on to study other instruments too as they will be exploring pitch, patterns and rhythm. There is no requirement to practice at home, but I'm happy to provide simple tasks you can help your child with between lessons to enhance their learning.

Each lesson incorporates a number of musical learning points including:

Ear training (inc singing, exploration of pitch, finding the beat), technique (inc starting to develop finder dexterity), rhythm (inc note values), and music theory (inc keyboard geography).  We also do some improvisation, engaging creativity and imagination, work towards music notation reading skills, and listen to music picking out points like tempo and timbre.
